Another review of our split 7" with Absolutist
"2 bands, 2 songs, 8 1/2 minutes of heaviness. Absolutist a 3 piece neo-crust/dark-hardcore band hailing from Ireland starts with a song called “Pain”. Everyone who likes Jungbluth, From Ashes Rise , Momentum or Ekkaia (for me the best neo-crust band ever) will probably love this band. I dig this very much, it’s fast, vehement and straight-forward as hell. At 1:07 begins a raging drum-guitar-sound-storm. Sick, just sick. All in all an amazing well-played bastard.
Last but not least a young band from germoney called Abest. They play a massive style of post-metal for fans of Alaskan or Red Apollo. You may know the band from the very first “Miss The Stars Sampler” I’ve put out last year. And yeah, I just can say…wow. They’ve really refined everything. Sounds pretty awesome. Very powerful and dark. Can’t wait for the debut full-length. (out feb/mar 2014)
Both bands are heavy on their own special way. Spinning that one on repeat the whole day. Good mix. Fits all very well (artwork is super-good too)."

Review of our split 7" with Absolutist (german only)
"Abest und Absolutist verfolgen auf ihrer Split ein wunderbar stimmiges Konzept. Obwohl die Songs sich wenig gleichen, ist die Harmonie zwischen den Bands deutlich erkennbar. Zwei Songs die auf jeden Fall Lust auf mehr machen und den Blick auf den Backkatalog der beiden Bands schweifen lassen. Die Vorfreude auf die nächsten Veröffentlichungen ist schonmal mehr als nur geweckt."

Reviews: DEMO MMXII
"If your into the usual big hitters of Sludge/Post-Metal then Abest is the band for you. I am a bit saddened that Head Of The Taurus have split up, but another brilliant band has risen from the ashes and they are a band I want to hear more of in the future."

"Despite being a demo, not only the presention is exceptional but also the music and the sound. Sludge meets post-rock into dark and atmopsheric places. Heavy vibes and mysteriously tripping music hand in hand with a clear, warm analog sound. The ideal lung, grand and compelling speaking of psychological matters gives an extra tone of misery and desperation. The great memorable riffs and the haunting melodies along with a terrific drum performance makes the possession of this creation a necessity."

"Abest is a new band from Germany. Basically plays sludge, post-metal / post rock influenced. The real sucess is that, without invent nothing new, the songs have the just dose of epic and opressive darkness, you will not have the sensation of listening to the umpteenth disc of post rock epic and boring or something constant tormented and rocky. Anyway the albums ends with black metal rhythms, another sucess after four slow songs. Promising debut."
